Nook Color from Barnes and Noble
I’ve been keeping up to date with Engadget’s live coverage of the Barnes and Noble “very special event” at the Union Square store in New York.. and one of the posts mentioned that BN posted the Nook color page on their web site: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/nookcolor/?cds2Pid=35700
Not what I expected at all… no Mirasol display… it’s LCD-backlit with some lame “VividView” technology that tries to reduce glare… and 8-hours of battery life? Really? For an e-book reader? GTFO of here.. I may as well get an iPad and have 5x better of a hybrid tablet-like device and be willing to pay the extra $150 for that.
Seriously, BN, what were you guys thinking? This is a battery-eating, bright, glaring, battery-muncher with a touch-screen. I’d rather get the Velocity Micro Cruz reader sold @ Border’s for more than $80 cheaper http://www.borders.com/online/store/MediaView_cruz-reader
Disappointment
